I cried watching Kamala Harris at the inauguration, I cried to Gaga, and to Amanda Gorman... My young nephews didn't understand, "hey are you alright?" they asked, "yeah, these are tears of joy" I said. I explained that the last years have been really hard, and it's just so inspiring to see a woman being sworn in. But really they were also tears of grief, and relief, and a deep knowing that there is still so much to do to create the change we want to see in the world.
So I drew Kamala to cope, to sink the positive moment into my body, through my drawing hand. Here she is, breaking through the glass ceiling that many before her have bruised themselves cracking so she can put it behind her, and look towards the infinite possibilities of the future.
